AngloGold Ashanti's community practices are guided by the group's
business principle, AngloGold Ashanti in the community.
Although it was the intention to audit the corporate social investment expenditure this year,
it has not been possible to do so as there are insufficient systems in place at an operational
level. It remains the company's intention to provide assurance of this expenditure in the
future and, in time, to provide assurance on the other key indicators.
Once again the company has reported in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative
(GRI) guidelines.
